My Thanksgiving Mac and Cheese

I had a wonderful time this Thanksgiving as I love spending time with my friends and family. This Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner we had a Value-Centered approach where we simply placed the food out and let them make their how plates but I don't think anyone was suspecting the 1000 calorie per serving Macaroni and Cheese or a my friend I/E says "Cheese and Macaroni".

It is so full of calories because I use industrial cream, butter and tons of cheese so that when you are making 10 lbs of Macaroni it wont be dry and it will stay creamy even after 1 or 2 days in the fridge.

Anyway, here is the Secrets of my Thanksgiving Mac and Cheese: The secret to my sauce is shush "hot sauce". I use both red Crystal Hot Sauce and Green Tabasco in my cheese sauce to make it spicy and then I add some Velveeta for sharpness and that super cheese flavor and then the super special secret is "Hickory Farms" Smokey Log Cheese.

You have to write me if you want more details that this... so super Yum-o.

Thanksgivng at Jovance

The Jovance Team had a wonderful time on Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving at the Holiday Events. Friday was a premier show for our Season of Gifts with new products and packages from Aveda. On Saturday we had live music and a special Holiday Chocolate Tasting from our Friend Anthony Ferguson with Cacao Anasa - The Everything Chocolate Experience.

We sold 27 boxes of chocolates, cookies and other chocolate creations hand crafted by Anthony at his San Francisco Studio Kitchen.

Wow. We are still getting orders...

Be sure to order your stocking stuffers and holiday gifts from Jovance and Stalaros.

Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Cream

Hello Spa Diva's

I went to the Holiday Jovance Event Saturday and had a blast learning and mingling. I was looking for a face cream because I was seeing sign of dryness especially on my cheeks.

The wonderful team at Jovance explained that in the winter your skin needs extra protection and moisture. The face cream and foundation I was using was for summer and did not have what my skin needed for winter.

One application and I was certain they were right. At first I felt the face cream would be too thick but I was wrong. My face absorbed it right away and oooh it felt soooo good.

You must try it. I also bought the tourmaline charged eye cream and I looked 5 years younger. I also did not get oily as with other products I had used in the past that did not absorb.

Go Jovance. Your products are excellent.

Women and Money!

Day Spas and Salon services are life essentials for most women. How can they afford it? Many say investing and managing their money right.

Michael E. Parker, Terrance Fulton and Elealeh Smith recently delivered a moving financial seminar at the Emeryville Hilton. The event moved me greatly even though I have heard them speak several times already. After the event I reflected about the life I lead because I did invest and make provisions for my financial future.

I was married at 25 for about 9 years. My husband was not a saver nor very good at handling our finances in general. His earnings were sporadic and spending habits consistently increasing. Despite these challenges I did manage to secretly save and invest 4-10k in various mutual funds during our marriage but by the time we were divorced I was just about penniless.

Starting over at 35 was a challenge but once I started healing emotionally I knew I needed to invest because I now had just one income – mine. I decided to again invest in mutual funds because I felt safe there but I soon realized that I was never going to get rich there with the funds I had and so I turned to real estate which I could buy with very little down.

My first home as a divorced woman was a foreclosure in Stockton California I bought for about 215k which I later sold for $275,000. After that I purchased 2 more homes for $265,000 and $310,000 which both doubled earning me over a half of a million dollars in equity.

The wealth I made saved my life when I was laid off from my job and needed to find a way to survive. With out this equity from my investment I would have been in financial ruin. The real estate market I had long earned an income from dried up and finding a job with a paycheck was a challenge with no other skills.

I faced living over 14 months with little source of income but I had plenty to live on (thank God) due to these investments!

I share this story to show the public that many women will face divorces, job challenges or just unforeseen circumstances and if you don't have any savings or investment vehicles you can be in dire straits and that may hinder your spa and salon activities... (a major life crisis).

The real estate market in most areas is depressed but there still are markets globally that will earn equity if you buy right.

I support Lifeskills 411 because they teach our youth the necessary things they need to know in life such as investment skills, financial literacy, budgeting, positive relationships and so forth.

I wish I would have had lifeskills 411 growing up I probably would never have made all the mistakes I did. I urge you to attend our upcoming gala on December 8th from 6pm- 8pm at the Emeryville Hilton so you can learn how you can help our youth... It Takes YOU!

Please go to Jovance, get all dolled up and be counted on Saturday December 8th from 6pm - 8 pm. I believe women need to learn about money, finances and investing earlier in life and it starts at home but when home fail, school or program such as lifeskills 411 can give youth the information to lead better adult lives.

Day Spa's, Women And Chocolate Just Go Together

Why Women Love Day Spa's is easy to figure out but why so many love Chocolate can be a little harder for some to understand. To me what's the Mystery, its yummy and we crave it. I love the taste and the way I feel eating it. It seems to fill up a hole that only chocolate can fill up. I enjoying the entire experience, It puts me into a great mood. There are times I just have to have it. Times when my inner chocolate meter gets low and goes off only chocolate will satisfy.

I believe Women and Chocolate just go together like peanut butter and jelly. We use chocolate to celebrate, make up and cheer up. It consoles our children and our best and worst days. Some say women crave chocolate for the magnesium and some say it is a aphrodisiacs and I believe both are true and for that and more women love it.

There is a local company that is making the best chocolate I have ever tasted and I do believe I am somewhat of an authority. This chocolate satisfies... Really. I have a friend who also loves Jovance and the finer things in life as I do and she agrees that one bite of this chocolate and the cravings we get stop dead in their tracks.

This Chocolate Company creates the wildest inventions I have ever heard of: Dark Chocolate, Cayenne, Sea Salt, Persimmons... and it goes on.

Jovance Cares About OUR Environment

You Can HELP us by reducing your junk mail.

Here is how and why:

Why Stop Junk Mail?

In addition to being a Personal Nuisance & Environmental Hazard it Saves Trees.More than 100 million trees are destroyed each year to produce junk mail. 42% of timber harvested nationwide becomes pulpwood for paper.

Reducing junk mail reduces global warming
. The energy used to produce and dispose of junk mail exceeds 2.8 million cars.

Save water. About 28 billion gallons of water are wasted to produce and recycle junk each year.

Save time. You waste about 70 hours a year dealing with junk mail.

The pulp and paper industry is the single largest consumer of water used in industrial activities in developed countries, and it’s the third-largest industrial greenhouse gas emitter (after the chemical and steel industries).

The average adult receives 41 pounds of junk mail each year (about 560 pieces). 44% goes to the landfill unopened.

On average, we receive 10.8 pieces of junk mail a week, compared to only 1.5 personal letters.

More than 62 billion pieces (4 million tons) of junk mail are produced each year.

The majority of household waste consists of junk mail.

40% of the solid mass that makes up our landfills is paper and paperboard waste.

Junk mail inks have high concentrations of heavy metals, making the paper difficult to recycle.

$320 million of local taxes are used to dispose of junk mail each year.

California’s state and local governments spend $500,000 a year collecting and disposing of AOL’s direct mail disks alone.

Transporting junk mail costs $550 million a year.

Your name is typically worth 3 to 20 cents each time it is sold. Lists of names and addresses used in bulk mailings reside in mass data-collection networks. By stopping credit card offers and other junk mail, you’ll help protect your identity from theft and fraud.

41pounds.org eliminates 80-95% of junk mailings for you by contacting dozens of direct marketers on your behalf. Of course you can contact the companies who send you junk mail yourself but we do it faster and with more precision.

By reducing your junk mail for 5 years, you’ll conserve 1.7 trees and 700 gallons of water, and prevent 460 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere — and you’ll gain about 350 hours of free time!

All Dressed Up and No Where To Go?

May we suggest Oprah Winfrey's The Color Purple. Its a musical performance about love playing through December 9th at the Orpheum Theatre located at 1192 Market Street at 8th in San Francisco. It stars Oakland's own Latoya London from American Idol, Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child, Felicia P. Fields, Rufus Bonds Jr. and Jeannette Bayardelle as Celie.

We found out about this performance when Ms. Jeannette Bayardelle performed a song for the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce where our CEO and the CEO of Stellar Enterprise, Mr. Michael E. Parker received an award for Business of the Year. We all enjoyed her performance greatly and we think you will too.

There is a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening show or a Wednesday matinee if you don't want to fight the crowds. To purchase order online at www.ticketmaster.com or www.shnsf.com or charge by phone Tickletmaster (415) 512 7770 or visit the Orpheum Theatre Box Office at 1192 Market Street at 8th in San Francisco.

fyi: The Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce luncheon attendees received a special offer of just $49.50 by using the code Harpo.

Have You Spilled Make Up On The Carpet?

Its happened to me...

Having clean carpet is a must for me. I don't like stains period. I get the carpet scotch guarded once per year and it makes most spills easy to clean because he protective coating makes the spill sit on top of the carpet rather than absorbing.

Scotch guarding is also great for furniture in homes with pets, kids or family members who eat in front of the TV.

Anyway I use Jimmy from Bayside Carpet Cleaning in Benicia (866) 892-6113 - 135 Radcliffe Dr, Vallejo.
